Service · Website design

Small business website design, built to be found.

Built the way your customers search: a page for each service or product that earns one, words written for the questions buyers ask, and a look that is yours on every screen. Our small business website design covers new sites and redesigns, and the finished site is yours to edit. When you want more customers, the same team can bring them in.

A person reads every message. No pitch unless you ask for one.

ClientAmerican Engineering · a land-surveying and civil-engineering firm’s site we redesigned and rebuilt for search

01 · What goes wrong

The site looks fine to you. Search and phones see something else.

What business owners bring us about their sites, in their words.

  1. One page is trying to sell everything.

There is no page for each service or product and nothing that answers the questions buyers type, so search has nothing specific to show them.

    Thin
  2. Every page has the same title.

Search results show the business name over and over, so a shopper can’t tell from the results which page answers the question.

    Unlabeled
  3. It’s heavy and slow on a phone.

Oversized photos and leftover scripts make the first screen wait, and a visitor on a phone leaves before it loads.

    Heavy
  4. The last redesign broke every old link.

Old addresses that people and search engines remembered now land on errors, and the rankings they earned go with them.

    Broken
  5. Every edit waits on whoever built it.

A new photo or a new line of copy means an email and a wait, so the site drifts behind the business.

    Locked
  6. Messages land nowhere useful.

The form sends to an inbox nobody reads, or nothing records which page brought the lead, so the site’s best work goes unanswered.

    Lost

02 · What we do

Website design for your customers, built for search, handed to you to run.

Every page has a job, and we write down what it is before we design it.

  • 01Research

What your customers search, mapped to pages

Who buys, what they ask before they buy, and which of those questions deserve a page of their own, written down before anything is designed.

  • 02Design

A look that’s yours on every screen

A design built from your brand, your photos and your voice, checked on phones and desktops alike, readable for everyone, with light and dark versions where they help.

  • 03Build

A page for every service, product or place that earns one

Titles and descriptions written page by page, business and product details search engines can read, a sitemap from day one, and pages that stay light on a phone.

  • 04Redesigns

Redesigns that keep what you’ve earned

Every old address mapped to its new page and redirected, titles carried over or rewritten, and the old addresses requested again after launch to catch anything that broke.

  • 05Editing

    Pages you edit yourself

The words, photos and offers you change often get an editor and a short guide, so a new line never waits on a developer.

  • 06Leads

Forms that reach a person, and tracking from launch

Contact forms that land in the right inbox, and analytics and conversion tracking set up at launch, so you know which page brought each lead.

    Conversion tracking

Need customers once the site is live? The same team runs Google Ads, email and SEO, with every dollar tracked to a sale.

03 · Proof you can check

Websites built to be found, with the receipts.

A raw dog food store we built from the owners’ own design, a civil-engineering firm’s rebuild, and our own site. Every figure opens its receipt: where it came from, how it was counted, and when we last checked.

blends with a page of their own that search engines can list

On the old store every product opened on the same page, titled like every other page, with its name filled in after it loaded, so no blend had a page of its own for search to list.

SOURCE · The old store’s shared product page, and redtailraw.com’s sitemap and product pages

METHOD · Old store (2026-09-29): every product opened on the same shared page, titled like every other page, with its name and price filled in after the page loaded, and there was no sitemap. New store (2026-10-19): each of the 16 product addresses in its sitemap answers with its own title, description, address and product details already in the page, readable without running any of the page’s code.

How we count

The work behind the numbers

  • ClientAmerican EngineeringPer-service pages and long-form articles on the regulatory questions a land-surveying and civil-engineering firm’s clients search for, with every inquiry landing in the team’s inbox, ready to reply to.
  • ClientKnee Deep BrewingA brewery site the brewery runs itself: its own editor for beers, events and pages, a distributor locator, newsletter sign-up and campaign tracking.
  • ClientSigma Environmental ServicesA cinematic site for an environmental-services firm, with a video hero and scroll animation, built as plain static pages instead of in a page builder.
  • ClientPursuit ProteinA protein-bar brand’s site with an interactive comparison tool, where every marketing claim is checked against a dataset of competitor bars each time the site is built.

04 · How it starts

Map the pages, write them with you, design, build, launch.

The same order every time. You approve every page before it goes live.

You approve every page before it goes live, and a senior engineer reviews every change before it ships.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the site

Send the site you have, or the business you want one for, and what it needs to do. A person reads it and writes back with what we see and what we’d ask next.

Out a written reply from a person

  2. Step 2: A written plan

If there is a fit, you get the pages the site needs, a timeline and an estimate, in writing. If there isn’t, we say so.

Out the pages, a timeline and an estimate

  3. Step 3: Pages drafted with you

We map what your customers search for and draft each page around it with your facts and in your voice. You correct and approve every page.

    Out every page signed off

  4. Step 4: Design and build

The look on your real content, checked on phones and desktops, with titles, descriptions, a sitemap and the business details search engines read, on a preview you can click through before launch.

Out a preview site to click through

  5. Step 5: Launch and hand over

Old addresses redirected and checked, the sitemap sent to Google, analytics running, and a short guide for every edit you’ll make. Then, if you want more customers, the same team runs Google Ads, email and SEO.

Out a live site you can run

05 · Straight answers

Questions owners ask before a new website or a redesign.

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?

It shouldn’t, and we plan it so it doesn’t. Every old address is mapped to a new page and redirected, titles and descriptions are written page by page, the new sitemap goes to Google on launch day, and we request every old address again after launch to catch anything that broke.

Can we edit the site ourselves?

Yes. The words, photos and pages you change often get an editor, and your team gets a short guide for each kind of change. New pages and features are where we come in.

Who writes the words?

We draft them with you. We map what your customers search for, draft each page around it with your facts and in your voice, and you correct and approve every page before launch.

Do you design sites for businesses that aren’t software companies?

Yes. Our sites run a civil-engineering firm’s services, a brewery’s beers and events and a meal-prep company’s ordering, and we built a raw dog food business’s store from its owners’ own design. The approach is the same each time: a page for what each customer is looking for, built to be found.

What happens after launch?

We watch search and analytics through the first weeks and fix what they show. If you want more customers from the site, the same team runs Google Ads, email and SEO, with every dollar tracked to a sale.

What does a new website cost?

It depends on the pages the site needs, and the plan says so in writing: the scope, a timeline and an estimate before you commit. We don’t publish prices or packages, because no two sites need the same work.
